Layla Akhmetova is a Kazakh violinist, born in 1990.
She began violin lessons at the age of eight and studied at the Kazakh National Academy of Music.
She studied at the Hanns Eisler Hochschule für Musik in Berlin with Prof. Saschko Gawriloff and completed her Master's degree in Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien with Dalibor Karvay.
Layla has won several international competitions. As an orchestral musician she was the second principal violin of the Berlin Residence Orchestra and a member of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra in Bratislava. She also played in the trio "The Saxophone
Connections" (violin, violoncello and alto saxophone). The trio presented its first CD in Bratislava in May 2022.
Layla is a soloist of the chamber ensemble "Chambers of Lights".
Since 2018 - guest artist and since 2023 - jury member of the "Golden Key" Festival at Carnegie Hall.
